CPR (CPR & AED use for adult), Choking, Stroke, Heart Attack
Role of the first aider, Consent, Legislation, Wellbeing of the first aider
Primary & Secondary surveys, Vital Signs, Risk factors for suspected spinal injury
Bleeding & care management, Musculoskeletal injuries & care management, Burns & care management (non core – Bleeding Management tourniquets and haemostatic agents, Head Injuries concussion & compression & care management, Environmental cold injury, heat injury and care management for both)
Identify key presentations of CME’s*, methods to assess a patient for each CME, common causes of altered level of consciousness. *CME’s – Diabetic emergency, Asthma, Seizures, Poisons, Anaphylaxis, Sepsis, Fainting.
